GLUHWEIN WINE

A REFRESHING WARM WINE FOR COLD WINTER DAYS

This tradition dates back to the 1420s. The German recipe is red wine, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and an orange. Every December during Christmas the German markets serve this wine warm to all the people walking and shopping. Its refreshing and excellent on cold winter days. The tradition has spread throughout Europe. In the United States we can purchase Gluhwein ( Glow-Wine) from local retailers. There are several different brands you can purchase from. Take the bottle home and follow this recipe for a great mug of warm refreshing wine.
RECIPE
Warm wine in a pan or pot.
pour in a mug or glass.
For extra flavor add cinnamon sticks and or cloves.
Some countries add honey or apples and oranges for flavors.

Either way the wine is perfect to sip at fireside or out door winter fun.
